Holly Pester, Author of The Lodgers and Sam Johnson-Schlee author of Living Rooms sit in front of the fireplace to discuss their books and writing about living spaces and domestic atmospheres.

Holly Pester’s debut novel which explores the difficulties of tentative living arrangements against the backdrop of Britain's ongoing housing crisis. A woman returns to the small English town she grew up in, to live in a new-build flat overlooking her mother's house.  Living in a precarious sub-let, she is always on edge.

In Sam Johnson-Schlee’s radical and elegiac book, he invites readers to consider the dreams and fantasies we have about our homes, and their underlying reality.

Both authors live in North Essex. Ticket price includes talk, tea and biscuits or a glass of wine.  Arrive and settle from 5pm. Talk starts from 5.15pm. Book here.
